EA SPORTS FC 27 is officially available on the original Nintendo Switch, bringing authentic football action to the portable console with over 21,000 players, 800 clubs, and 35 leagues. You can play your way through core modes like Career Mode, Ultimate Team, Kick-off, and Online Seasons, all featuring updated squad rosters and refined gameplay tuning for attacking and defending. The game supports up to four players locally on one system, two players via local wireless, and up to eight players in online matches. To download the digital edition from the eShop, you will need at least 32 GB of free storage space on your system or MicroSD card, alongside a Nintendo Switch Online membership and an EA Account for any online features.

However, there is a massive catch for players using the first-generation Switch hardware this year. EA’s flagship new feature, The Grounds—which serves as the ultimate social football playground combining street football, stadium culture, and the highly anticipated Clubs mode—is completely omitted from the original Nintendo Switch. This social hub and its connected modes are strictly exclusive to the newly released Nintendo Switch 2 and other current-generation platforms. Furthermore, if you purchase the physical cartridge version for the original Switch, it is built specifically for that older hardware architecture and is not compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2, meaning your physical progress won’t carry forward if you upgrade your console later.
